teaching math for all learners

The resources you need so that all students can access quality math instruction.

THE KEY TO TEACHING MATH TO ALL LEARNERS

high leverage resources

You can't teach students math without clearly knowing their current math understanding and what math content they need to know next.  The High Leverage Concepts (HLCs) serve as a road map to ensure that all students meet the most fundamental concepts to move on to the next grade. The HLC Learning Progressions identify the developing stages along a continuum of concepts, models, and skills that lead to student understanding and applying a specific HLC. The High Leverage Assessments (HLAs) assess a student's current understanding of a specific HLC. Together, these resources are the solution to our math learning crisis.

what does an inclusive math block even look like?

The ALN Lesson Structure is a teaching framework so everyone can learn math with conceptual understanding. The framework includes four elements: Launch, Main Lesson, Menu, and Closure. All parts of the lesson include differentiation, inclusion for all learners, and opportunities for students to engage in developing conceptual understanding (Common Core State Standardsalongside development of mathematical practices (Standards for Mathematical Practices).
